L’Esperance looks forward to presenting mandolins on a spring afternoon with Russian Virtuoso Ekaterina Skliar. Ms. Skliar is a winner of the 2019 Astral National Auditions. At the age of 11, she debuted with the Russian Folk Instrument Orchestra of the Buryatia Republic. She has gone on to perform with numerous chamber ensembles and orchestras in Russia, Europe and the U.S. Her vast repertoire includes transcriptions of classical music, original works for domra and mandolin, and contemporary music.

Ms. Skliar will join L’Esperance in a performance featuring Antonio Vivaldi’s well known Concierto for Liuto. Other highlights of the program include Yasuo Kuwahara’s spectacular Song for Japanese Autumn, Ralph Vaughan William’s English Folk Song Suite and Percy Grainger’s Capriole Suite.

L’Esperance features musicians from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York and Connecticut of different backgrounds and ages who come together to enjoy the pleasure of making music with each other. Since 1994, l’Esperance has been sharing that joy with audiences around New England. Our music ranges from classical to contemporary, from Celtic to Klezmer, from rock standards to Baroque masterpieces.
