L’Esperance looks forward to presenting “For the Birds” in Buzzards Bay with Russian Virtuoso Ekaterina Skliar at St. Peter’s in Buzzards Bay, Saturday, March 14 at 8:00. Ms. Skliar is a winner of the 2019 Astral National Auditions. At the age of 11, she debuted with the Russian Folk Instrument Orchestra of the Buryatia Republic. She has gone on to perform with numerous chamber ensembles and orchestras in Russia, Europe and the U.S. Her vast repertoire includes transcriptions of classical music, original works for domra and mandolin, and contemporary music. Proceeds from the concert benefit St. Peter’s Music Ministry.

Ms. Skliar will join L’Esperance in a performance of Mikhail Glinka’s Skylark and the first performance of Domenico Caudioso’s Concierto for Mandolin in America. Other highlights of the program include William Byrd’s Pavans and Galiards; John Come Kisse Me Now also by Byrd; H.F. Odell’s arrangement of the Carmen Suite; and the first complete performance of Strinennia by Michael Bell.

L’Esperance features musicians from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York and Connecticut of different backgrounds and ages who come together to enjoy the pleasure of making music with each other. Since 1994, l’Esperance has been sharing that joy with audiences around New England. Our music ranges from classical to contemporary, from Celtic to Klezmer, from rock standards to Baroque masterpieces.
